James has over 20 years experience across corporate finance, accounting, business, asset management and operations in both public and private companies. He has spent the last 5 years focused on digital asset infrastructure, with a keen focus on the energy requirements for data center development. He is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Sharon AI Inc. a High Performance Computing (HPC) focused digital infrastructure business. Prior to this James was the founder and CEO of Mawson Infrastructure Group Inc (NAS: MIGI) until May 2023.
Separately he is Chairman of Defender Asset Management Limited an Australian boutique funds management business. James is co-portfolio manager of the Defender Global Fund, and portfolio manager of the Defender Credit Fund, an Australian focused private credit provider. He is the non-executive director of the Defender Tourism Fund.
James has completed a Master of Business (Finance) and a Masters in Property Development from University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as well as a Bachelor of Accounting from Australian Catholic University (ACU). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors (FAICD), and a Fellow of Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
